Veil FAQ

Why does Veil need Accessibility permission?

Veil needs it to detect frontmost windows and apply blur behavior correctly.

Can I choose which app stays visible?

Yes. Use “Choose Cover App” in the menu to keep one app visible while others are blurred.

Does Peek turn Veil off?

No. Peek temporarily reveals all windows and returns to blurred mode after release.

How do I get the latest build?

Download Veil.dmg from the latest release page and verify the SHA-256 checksum if needed.

Does Veil work with Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Veil protects your macOS desktop before you start sharing, so it works with common meeting tools.

Can Veil help hide chat windows during meetings?

Yes. Set your presentation or work app as the Cover App, then Veil blurs chats, notes, and background apps.

Does Veil collect my screen content?

No. Veil is designed as a local macOS privacy overlay and does not need to upload or analyze your screen content.

What is the difference between Per Screen and Global mode?

Per Screen mode lets each display track focus independently. Global mode uses one focus target across all displays.

Is Veil useful for recording demos?

Yes. Toggle Veil before recording to keep your main app visible while sensitive background windows stay blurred.

Where can I report a bug or request help?

Use the support page or GitHub Releases page to find the latest build information and support links.
