Local Screen Protection
Veil works as a local macOS privacy overlay. Its core job is to keep your chosen Cover App visible while blurring other windows on your desktop.
Screen Content
Veil does not need to upload, store, or analyze your screen content to provide the blur workflow. The privacy behavior is meant to happen on your Mac.
Accessibility Permission
Veil asks for Accessibility permission so it can understand frontmost windows and apply the right overlay behavior. This permission helps Veil follow focus changes and keep the selected app visible.
Keychain and License Access
When licensing is enabled, Veil uses the macOS keychain path for license access. This keeps license-related storage aligned with standard macOS security behavior.
Meeting and Recording Workflows
Veil works before you share or record your screen. Toggle protection first, then start Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, QuickTime, or another recording workflow.
